Omar Faqir
After more than 15 years of Jazz performance in national and international venues, Omar
Faqir presents a new Electric Band formation " The Faqir Syndicate".
Omar Faqir
" The Founder of Jazz In Jordan"

Omar was born in Amman-Jordan . He grew up in family that
mastered all kinds of arts. His family always and up till now
supports Omar in every way possible. His father (Hasan Faqir) one
of the Oriental music pillars taught Omar the basics of music and
because of his huge music library he was able to master almost all
kinds of music genres. Also, Omar was enriched by his late grand
father musical legacy. He started with his relatives : Abed Faqir,
Issam Faqir, Bashar Arafat, and Husam Soloh, the first Jazz band
in Jordan "Faculty –X". He performed in many local and
international concerts and festivals, and he performed with many
great musicians such as Stanley Jordan, Charles Davis, Noah Howard,
Chris Byars. Then, hegot a scholarship to Berklee College of music.
He recorded "Desert Harmony" with Noah Howard. He created many
music themes suchas "Jazz Abdul Wahab".
Abed Faqir
     (Drums)         

Abed was born in Amman 1970. He is the grandson of the
famous Qanoon player the late "Omar Faqir". Abed started
playing drums when he was very young. He listened to all
genres of music. He was influenced by all the rhythm
schools: Indian, Latin, Arabic, and Jazz. Then, he chose to
focus more on Jazz fusion and master its elements. He
participated in the first Jazz band in Jordan "Faculty-X"
and contributed a lot in the music productions of this band.
"Faculty-X" gave him the chance to meet many famous
musicians and play their music. He participated in many
local and regional festivals such as "Jerash Festival", the
"Jazz Caravan", "Jordan Festival", "Amman Summer
Festival", "NAI international Jazz Festival", and others.
Many local drummers learned from him. Now, he is playing
with Omar Faqir in the ElectricBand project.
Ibrahim khreis
( bass guitar)

Ibrahim started playing bass guitar with local rock
bands in Amman. He moved from band to another
trying to gain as much experience as possible. He
performed in different local concerts and festivals.
Later on, he met Omar Faqir and started playing
jazz on his base. Ibrahim liked the complexity of
jazz and freedom of expression that this type of
music offers. Now, he is performing with Omar
Alaa Faqir
(Guitar)

Alaa' was born in 1989. The youngest son of the
Faqir family. Alaa' showed his musical potentials
when he was fifteen years old. He started playing
on his acoustic guitar copying tunes for B.B.
King, Eric Clapton, Al Di Meola and many
others. His brother Omar along with his father
started teaching him theory and, later on His
brother Omar introduced him to Jazz. After a
year, he started playing proper electric guitar
and began performing with his brother Omar in
the Omar Faqir " Electric Band" then in the
"Faqir Syndicate". He participated in many
festivals including "Amman Summer Festival", "
Jordan Festival", and others.
Aram Hairabedian
(Sax)

A very talented young musician who started playing
sax a few years ago. He played several styles and able
to improvise richly. He performed with several bands
in Amman and in UK where he is finishing his studies. He
participated in many local and regional Jazz festivals such
as
"Jordan Festival", "Amman Summer Festival", and others.
